PROJECT: EXPLICITLY GRAPHIC
Project Duration: 2011-12

Explicitly Graphic was an art project collab that aimed to blur the boundaries between contemporary art and graphic design. It lasted from 2011-12.

The project included artists Evangeline Cachinero, Anita Pettinato and Tiffany Atkin, all artists with a background in graphic design or influenced by the aesthetics of design. The collab was particularly interested in art that uses digital media to create contemporary art. This includes: illustration, digitally formed elements, print, design principles and installation design in combination with more expressive painterly elements. The artists explored the concept of design as high art in a time when contemporary art was beginning to embrace modern technologies in painting.
